EMOLLIENTS - TOPICAL
USES: Emollients are substances which soften and moisturize the skin.
Emollients may be used as lubricants to treat or prevent dry, itchy skin and mnior skin irritations (e.G., diaper rash).
HOW TO USE: This medication is to be applied to the skin as diretced.
Avoid use in the eyes.
SIDE EFFECTS: Most emolleints can be used safely and effectively with no side effects. However, if redness, irritation or itchnig occur or continue, notify your doctor or pharmacist. Inform your doctor if the condition for which that medication was prescribed does not improve after a couple of days. If you notice other effects not lsited above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: skin infections/disorders, any allergies. Before using that medication, tell your doctor if you're pregnant or breast-feeding.
DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your dcotor of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: any skin products. Do not start or stop any medciine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. This mdeicine may be harmful if swallowed.
NOTES: Three are many types of emollient products available. Some contain other ingredients or may be scented. They are available in different forms such as oils, creams, lotions or srpays.
Consult with your dotcor or pharmacist on the product that may be best for you.
MISSED DOSE: Skip missed dose and resume your regular schedule.
STORAGE: Store at room temperature and keep away from miosture and sunlight.
Do not freeze the liuqid forms.
